History
The Claremont Library was founded in 1914. It has been at its
current location since 1928. The present building opened on
April 25, 1975. The Friends of the Claremont Public Library
was founded in 1957.
Collection
The collection consist of 168,000 books, over 180 magazine subscriptions,
microfiche/microfilm collection, 5,900 videocassettes, and over 5,900
audio recordings which include audio books. The Friends of the Claremont
Library sponsor book, DVD, and video rental collections.
Services
Adult and juvenile reference, large print materials, public access
computers with internet access, online
public access catalogs and programs for children.
Facilities
The Claremont Library is 22,910 square feet. There is a meeting room
with a seating capacity of 70 and one microfilm reader/printer.
