The Chet Holifield Library will be closed for renovation work beginning Tuesday, January 26, 2010. The bookdrop will remain open for the return of materials during closure.
Toddler Storytime and Play Date will be held Wesndesdays 10:00am-11:00am at the Chet Holifield Community Center beginning Wenesday, February 3, 2010.

History
The library was established in February of 1969 in honor of Congressman
Chet Holifield, 19th District (served 1943-1974). The library primarily
serves the residents of south Montebello.
Collection
The collection consists of 45,053 adult and children's materials including
2,200 audio recordings, 2,600 video and 86 magazine and newspaper titles.
Services
Chet Holifield library offers public access to an on-line catalog, full
text periodical/newspaper index, coin-operated photocopy machine, a
coin-operated typewriter and a public access Internet computer.
Facilities
This 5,500 square foot library is housed next door to the parks and
recreation room of Chet Holifield Park.
