History
The Lennox Library was first established in 1918 in the original Jefferson
School on 104th St. The library was permanently moved to its present
site in 1948.
Collection
The current collection consists of 71,111 books; 68 magazine and
newspaper subscriptions; 7,494 videocassettes and 5,868 audiocassettes.
Special collections include Spanish language materials, black history
materials, college catalogs, local telephone directories, pamphlets,
and a video rental collection sponsored by the
Friends of the Library.
Services
The Lennox Library provides the following: reference and children's
services; readers' advisory; online
library catalogs that provide access to the entire County Library
collection and to online reference databases, public access Internet
computers, a coin operated photocopier and typewriter. There are weekly
children's programs.
Facilities
With ramp for handicapped access, the 4580 sq. ft. building has separate adult
and children study areas.
