Parent Child Workshop

The Parent-Child Workshop (PCW) is a five week program given twice a year for toddlers (3 years and younger) with their parents and/or caregivers. Each week, the PCW features a local resource professional who can help answer questions you may have about raising your child.

 

Our first Parent-Child Workshop features the Welcome Baby program at Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach. It is a home visitation program offered to all families who deliver at its BirthCare Center. Entirely grant funded by First 5 LA, the goal of Welcome Baby is to work with families to enhance the parent-child relationship and maximize the health, safety and security of the baby, while linking families to support services as needed. Welcome Baby provides new and expecting moms a personal Parent Coach to offer support and information during pregnancy and through the baby’s first nine months. If you or someone you know are an expectant mother, Alexis from Miller’s Hospital can discuss the program with you.

The Parent-Child Workshop (PCW) is a five week program given

twice a year for toddlers (3 years and younger) with their parents

and/or caregivers. The PCW is a great time to play with your little

one and to meet families from your community. Each week, the

PCW features a local resource professional who can help

answer questions you may have about raising your child.

This program especially for kids will be presented by GET SAFE. Over
the past 30 years, GET SAFE has trained more than 100,000 people in
the community!
• What is bullying behavior?
• Why do people bully?
• How to recognize bullying behaviors
• What can I do? What to do if you are being bullied, how you can
safely help if you witness or are aware of bullying
• How to be part of the solution
• The dangers of bystander behavior
• The GET SAFE BACK OFF BUDDY ™ Pledge

Grades 4 through 9 and parents welcome to attend.
