Rose Diaz Pinan Reading Aloud Collection
About the Collection
The Rose Diaz Pinan Reading Aloud Collection contains selected recommended titles to provide a positive, successful reading aloud experience. It was formed to help parents, teachers and other adults choose books to read aloud and share directly with children.
The importance of reading aloud to preschoolers is recognized already by parents and professionals. It is also important, as well, to understand the value of reading aloud to older children. Reading aloud as little as ten minutes a day results in many benefits. It stimulates children's emotional development and their imagination, lengthens attention span and enhances language skills. Sharing books with children promotes the desire and ability to read independently.
Some additional reading aloud benefits:
- Experiences of listening to literature with its wealth of language, its organized thoughts and its cadences
