Foto East L.A.
Foto East LA is a project to create an online collection of images depicting the history of one of the nation’s most culturally rich communities. From everyday events to extraordinary moments, we’re gathering historical images taken by locals—just like you—who have experienced East LA firsthand.
From April to June 2013, Foto East LA held 13 photo scanning days in County of Los Angeles Public Libraries (East Los Angeles, El Camino Real, City Terrace, and Anthony Quinn Libraries), East Los Angeles Service Center, and with the Maravilla Community Advisory Committee. Thank you to the donors who contributed photos to our collection.
On July 27, 2013, we held a Launch Party with Pop-Up Gallery at the East Los Angeles Library. Over 100 people attended to view selected photos from the collection while enjoying entertainment for the whole family.
